In the regular series, ‘Knowing Me, Knowing You’, Digital Services Manager, Mark Tuxford meets up with members of the Making Websites Better roster talking to them about their time at the company so far in a Q&A style format, enabling you to get to know the team a little better, whilst putting a name to a friendly face assisting with your business presence online.
Next up is the ultimate professional and Web design sensation, Anthony Satchell.
Anthony’s career journey began when he completed a two-year National Diploma in graphics and digital design at Farnborough College of Technology, giving him a great insight into the world of web development and coding. This was then followed by further studies into the fundamentals of computer programming.
Anthony built his first website project when he joined Yell.com, his knowledge and expertise have grown immensely since then. His Web development experience has also included stints within industries such as property, financial and other marketing organisations before finding his role at Making Websites Better.
From the outset Anthony was very keen on joining the team at MWB. He is responsible for the build of bespoke websites, while maintaining the functionality of existing client platforms providing support and solutions within the Web department.

What’s the best thing about working at MWB? “The people. I think a strong team makes for a strong company.”
How do you like to unwind in your spare time after a busy week at work? “Probably carrying on with a TV series playing a game on the Playstation 4.”
THREE words that describe your personality? “Funny, nice, easy-going.”
What is your passion in life? “Creating and developing video games.”
Is there a specific experience in life that always stayed with you, changed your outlook or made you more motivated to succeed? “I really don’t know what to answer for this, as I can’t think of any moment.”
What is your proudest achievement? “Releasing my first app/game - it was rubbish and didn’t get many downloads but what I learned from it was amazing!”
Who was your role model/hero growing up? “Jacoby Shaddix – lead singer of Papa Roach.”
Where is your favourite place in the world? “Places that I have actually been to, I would say Paris but if it was a place I haven’t been to but one day hope to visit would be Japan.”
What is the one thing you could not go a day without? “Other than oxygen and water... it would have to be my mobile.”
What is your favourite song? “Bring me the horizon – Throne.”
What is your favourite Film/TV programme? “Film: Back to the future (first one). TV: Supernatural.”
What are your favourite food and drink choices? “Peri Peri Chicken and Vodka and coke.”
What would you say is your hidden talent? “I don’t really have any. I used to be able to draw when I was younger but I haven’t done it for years.”
What is your biggest phobia? “Spiders – anyone who has seen the 1990 film Arachnophobia would understand.”
What is your favourite motivational quote? “I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.’ – Bill Gates.”
What would be top of your bucket list? “Fly a plane.”
If you won well over £1,000,000 on the lottery, what would you spend your winnings on? “Pay off the mortgage / loans and go traveling around the world.”
Finally, if you hosted a dinner party, who would be your chosen FIVE guests (dead or alive) and WHY?
Ollie Sykes – I would just talk to him about his music, how it has changed over the years and where he gets his inspiration from.
Hironobu Sakaguchi – I think it would be good to find out how he thinks the game industry has changed over the last 30 years and ask him questions about the games he created for Square Soft (now Square Enix) back in the 90s.
Dr. Wernher von Braun – I would talk to him about his NASA days and what he could have done with today’s technology.
Natalie Portman – I would talk to her about her role in Star Wars and other films she has done, plus I would also like to ask her about how she felt about taking the role as Thor.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool – I don’t think I need a reason for this one…
