In a new regular series, ‘Knowing Me, Knowing You’, Digital Services Manager, Mark Tuxford meets up with members of the Making Websites Better roster talking to them about their time at the company so far in a Q&A style format, enabling you to get to know the team a little better whilst putting a name to a friendly face assisting with your business presence online.

Step forward our talented Web Developer, Micah Kwaka.

Off the back of his studies at University, Micah’s built up vast experience as a developer working for creative, web, marketing and PR agencies across London. This included embarking on an apprenticeship in Web/Software Development which led to a successful role with MWB.

As a full-stack developer, Micah has the ability to build both the front and back-end of a website from scratch adding a bespoke feel to a client’s project that ultimately produces rave reviews.

Micah is a determined individual who gets his head down, using his knowledge and expertise to give our clients what they require from a web project.

What’s the best thing about working at MWB?
“The team environment. I also enjoy producing websites that showcase my skills.”

How do you like to unwind in your spare time after a busy week at work
“I like to play on my Xbox or read DC and Marvel comic books. Listening to music helps me unwind and I also enjoy watching sports such as: NBA, NFL and football.”

THREE words that describe your personality.
Adventurous, Determined, Underestimated.

What is your passion in life?
“My passion is reading every DC comic and to be the best developer I can be, whilst fulfilling my dreams in life.”

Is there a specific experience in life that always stayed with you, changed your outlook or made you more motivated to succeed?
“Not sure I have one.”

What is your proudest achievement?
“Becoming a developer in less than eight months.”

Who was your role model/hero growing up?
“Lebron James, Kobe Byrant, My Dad and God.”

Where is your favourite place in the world?
“New York City or Los Angeles.”

What is the one thing you could not go a day without?“My wife of course and maybe food.”

What is your favourite song?
“Coming Home - P Diddy.”

What is your favourite Film/TV programme?
“My favourite TV programmes are Silicon Valley, The Flash and Suits. My film choices would be The Matrix, Avengers Endgame and Avatar.”

What are your favourite food and drink choices?
“I love Jerk Chicken and a Long Island Cocktail!”

What would you say is your hidden talent?
“My hidden talent is never giving up, always having the underdog mentality.”

What is your biggest phobia?

What is your favourite motivational quote?
“‘You have to be able to accept failure to get better’ - Lebron James.”

What would be top of your bucket list?
“Taking care of my family.”

If you won well over £1,000,000 on the lottery, what would you spend your winnings on?
“I would buy a big mansion and holiday in Hawaii.”

Finally, if you hosted a dinner party, who would be your chosen FIVE guests (dead or alive) and WHY?

  • Lebron James - I have always admired how he plays basketball and deals with the hate he receives and overcomes all of that to be the best he can be.
    Kobe Bryant - he was the first basketball player I‘ve watched, he always inspired me to play basketball and love his black mamba mentality.

  • Michael Jackson - he was the first artist I listened to always danced to his songs .

  • Martin Luther King - an inspiration to me.

  • My Wife. - She always brings the best out of me and i admire her courage and compassion she has for people
